Hello Fellow Ilio Species,

Congratulations to the success of the Hilarion Ilio Grand Reunion 2010 – Bridging Generations (Malinao, Aklan). To all committees and Clan members involved with the execution, hats off to all of you. I hope that I also made an impact on the Team Building/Parlor Games, “bridging all generations together”. Farewell and Godspeed to all of the “Ilio” species. Let’s do it again in 2013… stronger and better!

If you have not done so, please check out some links below.  This will keep you up-to-date with the HILARION ILIO families.  Thank you…

Second cousin Ilios found!

For some reason, I bumped into a long-looked for cousin on Facebook who I found in somebody else’s list of friends.  She is Belyn Domingo Wilson, daughter of Nang Belen Ilio Domingo, who is a cousin of our side of the Ilio family.  The sisters Belen and Reginia (I guess of daughters of Julia Ilio?) have been based in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California since the 1950s.

Belyn sent me this picture above through Facebook and wrote:

“Bottom to Top: CJ Ilio, Christy Ilio, children of Cris Ilio, Marcus Frederick (Ilio-Domingo) Wilson, grandson of Nay Belen (Ilio) & Tay Fred Domingo, Darren Andre (Ilio-Gomez) Aliga, grandson of Nay Rening (Ilio) Gomez.
These are the new generation of Malinao Aklanons in California.”

It is sooo great to keep in touch with long-looked for cousins, who are now connected!

ATTENDEES – Nonoy Garcia/ Nene June Garcia Agustino/ Nong Gil Ilio/
Boy Ilio Bonifacio/ Ethel Yarra Tesoro/ ER Rampola/ Jojie Ilio

I.  SUGGESTED DATES OF REUNION ( for votation of members )

1.  07 August 2010 ( Saturday )

2.  14 August 2010 ( Saturday )

Note :  Month of August was suggested since this is the school break of those who are based abroad.

2. VENUE

1.  First suggestion – Nonoy Garcia’s place since 3 silang
magkakapatid sa lugar na yun.  However, wehn Ethel & I
made an occular inspection, we feel that the place is
small to accomodate 150 person or more.

2.  When we have dinner at Tropa ni Eleanor’s residence last
May 07, we suggested that it wud be better if we do it
there since it is accessible.  We could ask permit to
close the street for that one day affair, just what they
did during their golden wedding.

3.  COMMITTEES

NOTES :

1.  Print of T-shirt :

FRONT :  a. logo ( at chest )
b. TROPA NI —–

BACK  :  HILARION ILIO 2010

BRIDGING GENERATIONS

2.  Approximate cost of t-shirt -  P 120 – 150 pesos per
piece & will be shouldered by us.

3.  This will be worn from start of the affair
till finish.  We all go to church for the mass
wearing this Tshirt.

4.  Sizes of t-shirt – Small, meduim. large, xl large.  I
will ask boy boniufacio for teen sizes for the kids.

Start sending in your sizes.

4.  Since we are just starting, each TROPA must create their own
family tree or better yet for easy viewing, present it like an
organizational set up structure.  As we go forward, we can have
artist to draw the family tree of HILARION ILIO.

5.  Attendees will shoulder their own transportation expense going
to Malinao as the funds with me now is too far enough to cover
the fare.

6.  ACCOMODATION :

a.  We are all aware that we don’t have big houses to accomodate
large group, chances are – mag wawatak watak tayo kung saang
family pwede mag stay & bear the inconvenience.

b.  For those who can afford at di pwede sa cowboy style na
kahit paano, they can stay at hotel in kalibo and we will
arrange car pick up.

Hotel rate – ranges from 900 – 1,200 pesos per day

7.  PROJECTED FOOD EXPENSES – Breakfast, lunch, merienda

Estimate :  150 person x P 300.00 per head
=  P 45,000.00

Note :  Excluding drinks & prices for the parlor games

8.  OTHER SUGGESTIONS :

a.  if we want to continue our bonding for the next day, we could
go out of town to beach or to natural spring waterfall in
hurom hurom at nabas, very nice place at the foot of the
the mountain.

Kung may excess na foods sa reunion, we can bring it plus
mag potluck na lang each family kahit one dish.  Pag pinag
sama sama natin ang food, madami na yan.

Those were the topics that was discussed on the meeting.

**********************************************************************

These are my concerns:

1.  We wud like to hear your views, suggesstions, comments.

2.  Start sending in your donations / contributions.

3.  Please confirm how many numbers from your family will surely attend the reunion.  This is very important.

4.  Send in the number of Tshirt & sizes you need.

5.  Later on, we will need your flight details.

Quoted from the word of Boy Bonifacio, we will have difficulties & shortcomings on the preparations . . . we can fine tune it on the
succeeding years.

That’s all folks.  We will appreciate your participation in making our reunion a success and memorable one.  Lets make actions as soon as possible as it will be hard for us to prepare if we are running out of time.

Paalam Nay Chedeng

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

Sunday, Nov 30 right after the mass at 3pm, the funeral started.

ating Maykapal . . . at kapiling ni Tatay Peping.

Paalam Nay Chedeng . . . you will alwys be in our hearts. . . . . .

Reunion and renewal of ties

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

The fact of the matter is, one of the few times that we gather as a complete clan/family … is during the death – wake and/or burial – of a loved one. Yes, it is a time of grieving for the departed, but it is also a time for renewal of ties with long lost cousins and other relatives, some of whom we don’t even know exist, and a time for celebration of the life of the dearly beloved who we are sending to journey of a different kind.

So here we are, gathered again, honoring the life of Nay Maxima “Ansing” Ilio Romero.

You know who you are (or please help in ID in the comments section):

Nay Chedeng with ER

We will all miss Nay Chedeng (Tay Peping’s wife) who passed away on  Nov. 18, 2008.   To members of Tropa ni Jose (Peping), our deep condolences.  As Rev. Fr. Philip said, “May the soul of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Rest assured that Nay Chedeng will be in our prayers and Masses in the following days and weeks and months.”
