Taken at Malinao Church

Hello Fellow Ilio Species,

Congratulations to the success of the Hilarion Ilio Grand Reunion 2010 – Bridging Generations (Malinao, Aklan). To all committees and Clan members involved with the execution, hats off to all of you. I hope that I also made an impact on the Team Building/Parlor Games, “bridging all generations together”. Farewell and Godspeed to all of the “Ilio” species. Let’s do it again in 2013… stronger and better!

If you have not done so, please check out some links below.  This will keep you up-to-date with the HILARION ILIO families.  Thank you…

A breath of fresh air: our roots through the eyes of Russell

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Let’s have a breath of fresh air naman … amidst all these sad news.  Russell (si Bimbo na anak ni Ng Merlyn at Oca) sent everyone these photos of Malinao.  Some of you may have not received them through the mail (if you opted to read mails on the web), so here they are …

Reunion and renewal of ties

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

The fact of the matter is, one of the few times that we gather as a complete clan/family … is during the death – wake and/or burial – of a loved one. Yes, it is a time of grieving for the departed, but it is also a time for renewal of ties with long lost cousins and other relatives, some of whom we don’t even know exist, and a time for celebration of the life of the dearly beloved who we are sending to journey of a different kind.

So here we are, gathered again, honoring the life of Nay Maxima “Ansing” Ilio Romero.

You know who you are (or please help in ID in the comments section):

The Incredible Hulk … err … Homer

Homer and his swimming medals

Before Michael Phelps, there was Homer, at least in the Hilarion Ilio family.  Cousin Homer was a Philippine-ranked swimmer in regular and paralympics competitions.  He is a member of the Tropa ni Jose (Peping) and he and his family and are currently based in Dubai.

Here’s Homer with his loved ones:

Homer writes:

Ito ako ngayon nagtitiis sa init nang araw sa bayan ng Dubai, pero OK lang kasi lima kami dito -  ako, si Rosendo, Alejo, Grace at Gideon.  Six years na ako dito na walang uwian sa Pinas.

Here’s Homer at his place of work – in the field and in the office:

Here’s more of Homer during his swimming competition days:

Her Majesty Queen
SHODDY MAE GARCIA AGUSTINO

From the Malinao town fiesta program (2003):

“Shoddy Mae is a combination of charm and child-like innocence emerging into a beauty that would make young men have a second look at her. Born on October 27, 1988 under the zodiac sign of Scorpio, this young teenager is the third of four children of Mr. Noly Moribus Agustino of Kalibo, Aklan and Mrs. Eleanor ‘Nene June’ Garcia Agustino of Poblacion, Malinao, Aklan.

“Just like any second year high school teenager, Shoddy Mae likes singing, dancing, watching TV, eating out and texting to friends.

“Her candidacy was sponsored by the Malinao Municipal Officials and Employees, Parish Council and Religious Sectors. She garnered P 136,346.50 votes.”
