Lani and Edcelyn passed the nursing boards given in November. Only 40% of the examinees passed (37,527 out of 94,462). If there is anybody else in the family who passed the licensure, please let me know and I will post.

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008According to Ng Emma, Angela, daughter of Angelita (Ilio-Garcia) and Francis Liew who are based in Paris, France flew into Manila for a month’s vacation.
Angela (encircled) with cousin Toto (L) and brothers Kenneth (with her) and John in blue/red jacket with their aunt Marissa (Isot), mother of Toto. Angela’s dad, Francis is at the back with Lynn, a visitor from Chicago. This was taken in 1999 in the Liew’s apartment on Rue d L’ Ourcq. Angela’s mother, Angie (Angelita) was not in the picture – she was working that time when we visited. ( I finally found the pictures!)
Many Ilios had lunch with Angela just today (Nov. 2) at a restaurant on Timog, also to serve as a despidida for Ethel Yarra and Maning and Jojo Romero who are going back for the US tomorrow. Ethel, Maning and Jojo were in the Philippines, as you know by now, due to the death of our aunts, Nay Conchit (Ethel’s mother) and Nay Ansing (Maning and Jojo’s mother) within weeks of each other.
Ng Emma said that Nay Nor’s family was in attendance including grandson Joseph Andre, the TV star (of Kung Fu Kids fame) who was mobbed by fans for photos.

The lunch was a mini-reunion of the Ilios in Manila – there were 16 of them, had a very enjoyable bonding time and they basically closed the buffet.

In 1995, I visited Paris for the first time. As soon as I got to the hotel from the train station (I came in by train from Munich, Germany), I called them and they picked me up right away and took me out to dinner – my first dinner in Paris … was in Chinatown! At one of the best Chinese restaurants in Paris – called Palais d Asie … with karaoke, of course.

Posing with two of Francis and Angie’s children at Bolugne Woods in the outskirts of Paris. I would like to see how they’ve grown now … since this was taken 13 years ago! I guess, it’s time to go back to Paris, huh?
I actually went back 4 years later (in 1999) but I lost my pictures! Angie’s family moved to their own condo on Ourcq St. or its French equivalent – Rue d’ Ourcq or something. The only picture that I can find right now of that second visit is this:
Turon du Paris
The turon that Isot made especially for me when we visited the condo. For lunch though, they served a sumptuous lunch cooked by Francis, Angie’s husband, who is a chef at one of the upscale Thai restaurants on Champs-Elysees.

I WILL try to find the pictures … don’t know why I lost them. I put them online before but I couldn’t find them anymore.
Angelita and Marissa are members of the Tropa ni Eleanor; they are the daughters of Nay Nor and Tay Gemin.

Presenting, our very own TV, and now, movie star, Joseph Andre Garcia! Andre is one of the Kung Fu Kids (Chester Chubbs Trinidad) on TV and also is now in Dyosa and Going Bulilit. He has also appeared in many commercials. His first movie, A Very Special Love starred Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz. He is the apo of the proud lola, Nay Nor.
