Sisters Angelita ‘Angie’ (L) and Marissa ‘Isot’ (Ilio-Garcia) with Ken and Ron at Palais d’ Asie in Paris’s Chinatown ca 1995.
In 1995, I visited Paris for the first time. As soon as I got to the hotel from the train station (I came in by train from Munich, Germany), I called them and they picked me up right away and took me out to dinner – my first dinner in Paris … was in Chinatown! At one of the best Chinese restaurants in Paris – called Palais d Asie … with karaoke, of course.

Another photo with the Ilio-Garcias in Paris, 2nd from left is Angie’s husband, Francis.

Posing with two of Francis and Angie’s children at Bolugne Woods in the outskirts of Paris. I would like to see how they’ve grown now … since this was taken 13 years ago! I guess, it’s time to go back to Paris, huh?
I actually went back 4 years later (in 1999) but I lost my pictures! Angie’s family moved to their own condo on Ourcq St. or its French equivalent – Rue d’ Ourcq or something. The only picture that I can find right now of that second visit is this:

Turon du Paris
The turon that Isot made especially for me when we visited the condo. For lunch though, they served a sumptuous lunch cooked by Francis, Angie’s husband, who is a chef at one of the upscale Thai restaurants on Champs-Elysees.
The recipe for turon (now called popularly in upscale restaurants here in North America as banana egg rolls) can be found here.
I WILL try to find the pictures … don’t know why I lost them. I put them online before but I couldn’t find them anymore.
Angelita and Marissa are members of the Tropa ni Eleanor; they are the daughters of Nay Nor and Tay Gemin.
