Thank you so much for posting this! Oh how we miss Nang Rena.
Hi fellow Ilio family members,
This video was lovingly created by Rena’s youngest son, DARREN, for his mom, who left us too soon… She was quite a woman for those of you who only knew her from childhood, but while she was my first cousin (Her mom, Regina, and my mom, Belen Ilio were sisters) Rena was like an older sister to me. She guided me through my adolescence, advised me about relationships, shared my life in my career growth, and she was my inspiration in my married life and embarke d on motherhood when I married and had a child of my own. Prior to giving birth to my son, Marcus, I was Ninang to her three children, Alan, Lauren (Lollie) and Darren. But the best gift she gave me was allowing me to tap my maternal instincts with her kids which made me a greater mother to my own child!!
I miss her so, much… – - but sharing it here, helps me to remember her love and caring personality…I hope you were able to absorb some of “her” while reading my narrative. She was incredible. And I know she’s no longer in pain and suffering – -she is Heavens’ cruise director, leading the conga dance line, and telling the angels that they need to get up on the dance floor and shake their booty! <3
