Dear Relatives,
Oct 22, on the last day of the wake of Nay Ansing Romero, Cyra Ilio (daughter of Tay Narding & Nay Tuding Ilio) brought a file written by Tatay Oto (Dominador Ilio). It was the GENEALOGY OF THE ILIO CLAN. I borrowed the file from Cyra & started reading it.
Oct 25, we went to visit Nay Chedeng in Tala, it so happened that it was Menchie’s birthday (daughter of Tay Peping Ilio & Nay Chedeng). I brought with me the ILIO CLAN GENEALOGY and showed it to our cousins. Those present were:
1. GARCIA FAMILY – Nanay Nor, son Joseph & Richie, son of Inday Bahoe
2. ROMERO FAMILY – Reth, Lorelie, Manny, Amada, Siony, Jojo, in-laws & apos of Nay Ansing (one jeep sila)
3. YARRA FAMILY – Merlyn + daughter, Ethel + 2 sons
4. RAMPOLA FAMILY - Nangnang Clarita & myself
5. JUN ALFARO – son of Anang Vita Ilio (daughter of Tatay Melis Ilio & Nay Donyang)
It was quite a small reunion of the Ilio family. With the exchange of ideas, we decided to really have a family reunion. This was the objective & dream of Tatay Oto that never happened. On our generation, why don’t we let this happen? Our clan is growing bigger every year that we don’t even know who are our descendants.
Our children might bump into each other on the streets not knowing that they are relatives. We arrived at a plan to have a grand homecoming for the HILARION ILIO 2010 Family reunion. The theme is BRIDGING THE GENERATIONS.
These are the suggestions :
1. Target date of reunion – between July-August 2010 – this was suggested by those who were based abroad since it’s school vacation. NOTE : we need to consider that locally, it’s typhoon season at that time.
2. Place of Reunion – Malinao, where our roots came from.
3. Website – Joseph will create a website HILARION ILIO 2010 after his relocation here in
Manila from Iloilo on Nov. 15. With this, any member of the clan can get updates, express their views,
post their pictures, etc. This is good for the young generation for them to communicate with each other. NOTE – we will keep you posted if the website is done.
4. Coordinator in Manila – Joseph Garcia & ER Rampola
5. Funds – we realized that it will be hard for our logistic if we don’t have funds, so the following have already doled out amounts :
TROPA NI CONCHITA - Php - 5,000.00
TROPA NI MAXIMA - Php - 6,000.00
NOTE : 1 ) Ethel Yarra Tesoro will discuss regarding this fund in a separate email once she’s back in US.
2) The funds are with me. Joseph & I will open a bank account to secure the funds and that they will be accounted for. Any amount that will be contributed by any member of the clan will be posted & deposited to the bank, or you can send directly to the bank once bank account # is already available.
6. Family Tree - As of now, records of our clan tree are no longer updated. We need to gather the names of family members so we can have an artist make our family tree. Since Lolo Hilarion had 14 children namely : MELECIO, RESTITUTO, ARCADIO, EPIFANIA, DOMINADOR, CIRILO, CONCHITA, REBECCA, MAXIMA, ELEANOR, HILARION JR., JOSE, ELVIRA, & AMANDO, every family must be represented by one to submit to us an updated family members list.
The only surviving among the children are: ELEANOR & ELVIRA.
7. Updates – Each one of us should contribute to give updates of what is happening & development of our plan, news bits, etc. This will involve a lot of work & planning. We encourage the young generation to participate in carrying out this plan. We believe that young blood has a lot more of bright ideas. We, your elders will give the direction, help us to make these things happen.
Communicate & introduce yourself to one another thru email, text, or by phone & keep the ball rolling. We would like to thank TROPA NI JOSE PEPING as this plan was conceptualized in their place. It happened during a visit to Nay Chedeng as well as a birthday celeb of Carmencita ‘Menchie.’ It was a very enjoyable day reminiscing the good old days, videoke, dancing & social drinking for the boys.

2. TROPA NI MELECIO Melis - Most of the children of Tatay Melis have migrated to Mindanao in the 60s. We lost track with them because they seldom go back home to Malinao. I suggest that Ludwig Ilio & Jun Ilio Alfaro be the ones to disseminate this information to their clan. Thanks
